Soulful conversation of Citytadka with Singer Shirley Setia
Shirley Setia, known as the ‘The Tiny One With Not So Tiny Dreams’ is an Indo-Kiwi singer, performer. Her family is basically from Daman, India wherein she was born on 2nd July 1995 but she hails from Auckland. Surtis would be happy to know that she is born in Daman and now an international star. Her dad is an entrepreneur while her mom a home maker and an interior designer. No one in her family has even the remotest association with music. Singing was never a career choice for her.A huge part of her career is a result of social media. What started as an amateur recording of her sitting in her pyjamas signing “tum hi ho” became this viral video, against all odds.
She uploaded the video at 1 am in the morning and went to bed with no intention of it going viral or her pursuing music as a full time profession. Her journey as a singer is much different from that of most within Bollywood. She started as a cover singer, emerged as a digital sensation on the internet and recently launched her original song KOI SHOR, music composed by Ravi Singhal, which got a massive response and she also won the Outlook Social Media – Best Musician of the Year Award.
She loves to make people smile, loves long drives with good music, she doesn’t have a sweet tooth for sweets like kaaju katli or rasgulla, she loves to dance and she calls herself a drama queen. After her successful 1st Live Performance in Gujarat at Auro University, Surat. She said she loved Surat and Surtis a lot and the best part she loved about Surat was the food. She also had a conversation with youth event entrepreneur Uttam Maheshwari from Ohh Wow events at same time. He has done various shows including Filmfare – International fashion shows – India’s unique catchy theme of Ganpati – Chocolate Ganesha Doodh Ma visarjan – Vibrant Navratra Aayodhya ki Raasleela. Let’s wait and watch for their upcoming exciting events together.
