Let’s Go for Ganpati Darshan in different areas of Surat

With over 40,000 (as per CityTadka’s Knowledge) Lord Ganesha idols in many Pandals, before they’re immersed, Surat is one of the only town where the Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on such a vast scale and it increases year by year.

The history of Ganesh Chaturthi within the town dates back to 1942, when the primary idol of Lord Ganesh was put in at Hindu metropolis Temple in Gopipura. There are many Ganesh Bhakts in Surat. Gradually, Surtis began to celebrate the 10-day pageant.

Since two decade, around 2,000 Ganpati idols were loved throughout the pageant within the town and from the last decade, the amount has exaggerated and have currently touched 40,000(approx.).

Surat Ganesh Utsav Samiti, that was registered in 1985, has over 10000 ‘mandals’ registered with it. “Surat is a solely town in Gujarat to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi on such a grand scale. You will notice over 3 Ganesh idols within the same residential society,” aforementioned by Citytadka Team, Surat

Citytadka team visited many places in Surat and gone through many Ganpati idols that included like a Ganpati is in the form of fish or sitting on fish or any other kind of animal, there were also idols related to books, etc.

Nowadays, there are sets created for the entertainment of the people coming to visit the Ganpati idols , as in the images , like army , scary themes , cartoon themes , and many such more . Citytadka team enjoyed a lot and were very amazed by looking at all the idols, because it’s like a fair created for 10 days in each and every area for Ganpati where people are visiting .
